The Novartis country president has revealed the pharmaceutical giant’s site in Horsham could close by the middle of 2014.
During an exclusive interview with the County Times, Sue Webb said 371 jobs are at risk, as well as 170 local contractors.
“It is an incredibly difficult time for everyone at the Horsham site and our focus is that people have the right facts.
“Our focus now is on our people and to work out what is best for them.”
During an exclusive interview with the County Times, the only media organisation Novartis has granted a face to face interview with today, Mrs Webb admitted ‘no time is a good time for an announcement like this’.
“But it’s incredibly important to all people they know as quickly as possible so they can make the right decisions,” added the Novartis executive.
See this Thursday’s County Times for the full interview, including details on how the large Horsham town centre site could be transformed and used in the future.
