There was a bit of a buzz, a sparkle and some insider information on Thursday April 21 in the Carfax in Horsham at a special event held by Sakakini Jewellers.

Hosted by local diamond expert Dominic Sakakini himself, there was also a selection of exquisite diamonds on display which guests were able to pass around and handle as well as buy, for well below retail prices.

Known for his lively presentations, Dominic also shared some of the secrets the diamond industry doesn’t want you to know about what size and quality of diamond currently yields the best return on investment.

Then using industry sources (Safe Guard ~ the industry’s independent valuation service) was able to demonstrate how for an investment of as little as £2,878 in 2011 you would now be enjoying returns of up to 70% on your diamond if you sold at auction.

As guests enjoyed sparkling wine they also learnt about the history of De Beers and the current buoyant state of the diamond trade before enjoying a unique opportunity to secure a diamond of their choice and save 69% (when compared to retail prices) and for a deposit of just £150.

Guest Heather Joy of Joy Stars described the event: “What an amazing evening. Not only did I learn so much about diamonds and their history, judging by the buzz in the room, it was not only my evening that was made when I realised that investment diamonds could be affordable for all budgets and not just the super-rich. Very exciting and I have already put my name down to attend the next events in June and September.”

Sakakini Jewellers hosts quarterly events at different venues and also runs The Diamond Club. The next opportunity to hear Dominic will be at the ‘Ladies’ lunch’ at South Lodge on June 6 or at an exclusive Diamond Club evening in the wine cellars of South Lodge followed by a meal in their award winning restaurant on the 15th September.
