BREAKING NEWS: Trains cancelled after lightning strike

TRAINS were cancelled and services disrupted along between Brighton and Crawley just after 2.30pm on Tuesday June 28 when rail equipment was damaged by a lightning strike.

Delays of up to 40 minutes were being reported at Horsham station after the Southern Railway services were affected between Horley and Three Bridges.

Power went off across Sussex, including Horsham, during a thunder and lightning storm.

The damaged rail equipment led to trains like the 14.36 London Victoria to Brighton and the 15.49 Brighton to London Victoria being cancelled.
