Staff and residents of a South Downs care home joined family to celebrate the 107th birthday of one of their residents.
Enid Sayers, who lives in Hillside Lodge in Pulborough, reached the milestone on Friday September 16.
Sue Crabb from Hillside said: “She was beaming. She has enjoyed the day. She can still laugh and joke about all sorts of things and she’s still on the ball. She’s an amazing lady. It’s quite something to aspire to be like her. She has a lovely heart, a caring person and a lovely family.”
Enid worked as a comptometer operator in decimal work, from 1925 at the age of 15 until she had her family with husband William ‘Bill’.
She has two daughters Janet, who lives locally and celebrated with her last week and Eileen who lives in America. She also Enid has four grandsons and three great grand-daughters.
