PUPILS at Farlington prep school were inspired by an up-and-coming children’s author at an audience participation reading.
Luke Temple’s workshop, based on his books The Thistlewick series, included film clips, drama scenarios, audience participation and readings.
By the end of the session the girls, from Reception to Prep Six, had learned that when he was young Luke hated reading and writing but loved listening to stories and now uses his own books to bring the world of writing to life.
One Prep Six pupil said: “He was brilliant! He made sure we were all involved in acting out chapters of his books. He was also extremely funny as when he first entered he was dressed as a pirate.”
