STUDENTS from Millais School in Horsham are learning what it’s like to run their own businesses through a Young Enterprise programme.

They set up their own companies, sell shares in and out of school, make a business plan, file a company report and have an annual meeting next June.

On Saturday six companies were selling their products at a trade fair in the Carfax from 8am to 4pm.

Link teacher John Nicholson said the scheme provided excellent business experience for them.

“The whole idea is that they should not just be selling an item but adding some value to it,” he said.

So one group, pictured, was selling hoodies and bags with their own slogans printed on them.

Another was selling money boxes but also hair clips they made themselves. Engraved coat hangers was another product.
