CHILDREN at a Horsham school marked VE Day by performing a play to their parents and teachers.
Pupils at Arunside Primary School dressed up in costumes to perform in a play about what it was like to be evacuated and the children sang a medley of wartime songs.
Afterwards parents were treated to a tea prepared by the pupils and staff and the children’s work was on display to show how they have been learning about the subject.
Chair of governors Diana Searle said: “Every pupil took part and were word perfect.
“When speaking to the pupils afterwards it was obvious they had really enjoyed the topic and spoke confidently about the research they had done and the information they have used.
“On display were their topic books and models of Anderson shelters, again of a very high standards.”
