VICTORIA Wood's series proved highly popular from 1998-2000 so it's no surprise really that the stage version is just as successful.

It would have been some feat to get the original cast together to go on tour for several weeks, but various members of the TV ensemble have appeared during the run.

At the moment, the stage show has Andrew Dunn who played the head of the canteen Tony and Sue Devaney as Jane, a member of the planning department whose role in the TV series grew.

What is amazing is that the rest of the stage cast look and sound just like their TV counterparts.

David Graham had 16 episodes from which to put together a stage show and he's done a good job.

Some of the original storylines are condensed or missing but there are plenty of jokes and comic situations to create a thoroughly entertaining evening out.
