Horsham boss Dominic Di Paola was left frustrated at being the only postponed game in the Southern Combination League on Saturday.
The Premier Division clash at Hailsham Town was the only match in the top three divisions to be called off.
The Beaconsfield pitch was waterlogged due to overnight rain and the match was called off early on Saturday morning.
But Di Paola felt with improving conditions, possibly the call was made too early.
He said: “It was really disappointing and I do not know why it was done (called off) before 9am, it was drying out and a solid day of weather - although I know it rained a 3pm.
“It is one of those things and we need to get it booked back in.
“I think they were talking about it being called off the night before, but who knows, maybe I am being a bit paranoid about it.
“It’s a real shame as we could have done with a game seeing as we aren’t playing Tuesdays either at the moment. We had a good side out as well which is typical.”
In the reserve section, there were a further two postponements at Billingshurst and Ringmer.
Hassocks’ match with Worthing United in the Premier Division at The Beacon was abandoned at half-time due to floodlight failure.
