Wanted man arrested after hiding in wheelie bin in Horsham

The man was discovered in Deer Way at about 11.45pm when a police helicopter’s thermal imaging camera identified a person hiding in the bin.

A spokesperson for Horsham police said officers were in the area dealing with an unrelated incident prior to the arrest.

The spokesperson said: “When they arrived on scene a male started fence hopping, and officers established it was the wanted male.

“The helicopter located the man hiding in a wheelie bin.”

Police are to question the man, the spokesperson said.

The spokesperson added: “He was quite elusive and we have been looking for him for a while.”

Police have asked residents of Deer Way and the surrounding roads to contact them if any of their property or belongings were damaged during the incident.
