Upper Beeding man charged with drink-driving and speeding

An Upper Beeding man has been charged with drink-driving and speeding after police stopped his car on Friday (June 5).

Reginald Acquaah, 37, was arrested at 11.35pm after his car was stopped on the A259 Brighton Road in Lancing.

Acquaah, of Church Close, was released on bail to appear at Worthing Magistrates’ Court on 2 July.

A total of 18 people have so far been charged as part of Sussex Police’s summer crackdown on drink and drug-driving.

As part of Operation Dragonfly, road policing unit officers are on dedicated patrols looking for offenders.

People in Sussex can text officers on 65999 with the details of people they suspect of drink or drug driving or visit www.operationcrackdown.co.uk
