Catapults are being examined by police officers following a spate of vehicle vandalism in Pulborough, West Chiltington and Billingshurst.
Windows of more than 50 vehicles were smashed with rocks or stones in the early hours of Monday (May 4) and Tuesday (May 5), police said.
Extra police patrols have been sent into the area to speak to residents and try to find anyone who saw anyone behaving suspiciously late at night.
Inspector Clare McKnight said: “Although we have made these arrests we still need to speak to anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious at all in the early hours of Monday or Tuesday.
“No matter how insignificant you might think the information is, it could be vital to our investigation so please do not hesitate to get in touch.
“Each of the victims has been left with the inconvenience and cost of having their vehicles repaired and we are determined to bring those responsible to justice.”
Anyone with information can email firstname.lastname@example.org quoting Operation Argos, call 101 or contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
