UPDATE: Hand grenade detonated in Slinfold
A hand grenade that was dug up near Slinfold yesterday (Thursday March 13) was detonated, Horsham police have confirmed.
A bomb disposal unit safely detonated the grenade at the scene of the incident, at a property on the A281 Guildford Road.
Police were originally called at 10.30am and later alerted the bomb disposal unit.
A spokesperson for Horsham police said some nearby residents reported ‘a loud bang’ at the time of the detonation.
