Morrisons staff will donate Easter eggs to a four-year-old boy who has undergone surgery after a dog attack in Crawley.

A police spokesman said he was treated for several bite wounds at St George’s Hospital, London, after emergency services were called to home in Kingswood Close, Broadfield, at 7.30pm on Friday (March 18).

Morrisons Crawley community champion Georgina Innes, 39, of Ifield, said she will wrap up six Easter eggs and two Easter bunnies to donate to him, with a bouquet of flowers for his mum.

Georgina, also a mum, said staff were touched by the boy’s plight and asked her to make a donation for him this morning (Tuesday March 22).

She said: “It means the world for anybody in that situation to have some sort of happiness.

“It’s heart-warming that I can do something for the local community, it makes my job really worthwhile.

“It’s really about something I can do to cheer somebody who is in an unfortunate situation, it’s just lovely.”

Investigating officers have seized an American Bulldog. A man, 58, and woman, 54, both from Crawley, were arrested on suspicion of possessing a dog dangerously out of control and have been released on police bail until July 5.
