Sussex Police and Crime Commissioner Katy Bourne is to serve on a group formed to help set the direction for improvement in tackling domestic abuse.
The National Oversight Group has been established by the home secretary, Theresa May.
Mrs Bourne said: “Domestic abuse is a top priority for the Home Secretary and this is why she will personally chair the National Oversight Group.
“I am delighted to be asked to serve on this national body whose work will influence how police forces and partner agencies across the country respond to victims of domestic abuse.”
The first meeting of the National Oversight Group will be in June.
