All of the offences have occurred in the last three weeks.

Thieves stole cash from a Citroen C5, a Ford KA and a Peugeot 306 in Cox Green between 5pm on Monday September 22 and 1pm on Tuesday September 23.

In the same period, seven sheds in the area were broken into, and garden power tools and petrol were stolen.

A garden sensor light in the road was smashed on Wednesday October 1 or Thursday October 2, before a second series of crimes occurred on Friday October 3 and Saturday October 4.

Overnight four more sheds and stable blocks were broken into and garden power tools, petrol and two tents were taken.

An attempt was also made to force open a garage door.

Police believe the same offenders are behind the series of crimes.

PC Jen Hurst said: “One thief or one group of thieves appears to be responsible for the break-ins as the same items are being targeted in the same area.
