Renewed police appeal for teenager from Henfield care home

As Christmas approaches, police have renewed their appeal once again to find missing 16-year-old Gbombo Neba who has not been seen since August.

Despite extensive enquiries being carried out in Sussex and London, there have been no confirmed sightings of Gbombo since he left the care home in Henfield where he was living.

Appeals have been made in Worthing and Croydon, as these are the areas he was believed to be, but no new information has been forthcoming and police are becoming increasingly concerned for his welfare and safety.

Gbombo is originally from the Waltham Forest area of London but recently moved to West Sussex.

He is described as Afro-Caribbean, 6ft tall, of stocky build with short dark brown hair and speaks with a London accent.

He was last on August 9 near Lancing Railway Station and was wearing blue jeans, black trainers and a brown jumper.

A police spokesperson said: “It has now been several months since there was a confirmed sighting of Gbombo and we are very concerned about him. Although there is nothing to suggest that any harm has come to him, Gbombo is only 16 years of age and we need to know that he is safe and well.

“We are working tirelessly to try and locate Gbombo and every line of enquiry is being followed up. Our focus has been on the Worthing and Croydon areas as these are where he was thought to be, but we believe he may also have been in Walthamstow and Victoria.

“If anyone at all knows of Gbombo’s whereabouts or thinks they may have seen him then please pick up the phone to police and let us know on 101, quoting serial 1723 of 9 August. Alternatively, contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.”
