Policeman injured after collision with car in Horsham

Police are investigating an incident in which a police officer on duty was injured as he went to speak to another driver in a town centre car park in Horsham.

According to a police statement, at around 12.15pm today (Saturday March 21) the plain-clothed officer approached the car in the Swan Walk multi-storey car park in Albion Way, Horsham.

It drove away and he was knocked to the ground.

The officer, 59, was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to the East Surrey Hospital, Redhill, where he has been detained to allow a full assessment of his condition. His injuries are not thought to be serious.
