Police seeking witnesses after reports of woman being assaulted at service station

Police are ‘concerned for the safety’ of a woman who was reportedly assaulted at Pease Pottage services.

“The woman is reported to have been grabbed around the neck by a man, and shaken backwards and forwards, at the services at about 7.20am on Monday (15 August),” said a statement from Sussex Police.

“Officers attended the scene, by which time both parties had made off.

“The following day, a 22-year-old man from East Grinstead was arrested on suspicion of common assault. He has been bailed until 29 September pending further enquiries.

“Anyone with any information about the incident is asked to contact 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call 101, quoting serial 204 of 15/08.”
