Police helicopter deployed after collision in Pulborough

A police helicopter was deployed over Pulborough yesterday (Tuesday August 12) to search for a man who had fled from the scene of a collision.

A Sussex Police spokesperson said a car was involved in a collision with a parked car in Frenches Mead, Pulborough.

The driver and another man fled the scene, the spokesperson said.

The spokesperson added: “A 20-year old local man was arrested shortly afterwards at a nearby address on suspicion of driving with excess alcohol and is currently in custody for interview and further enquiries.

“A search for the second man continued with the assistance of a police helicopter but he was not found.”
