The area has been targeted by a government initiative to support vulnerable families.

It has been named ‘Think Family’ by West Sussex County Council and Horsham police have been taking the lead with this project, after the Roffey area was identified by Horsham District Council.

Sergeant for Horsham’s Neighbourhood Policing Team, Chris O’Leary, said: “In terms of today’s work, overwhelmingly it has been a positive response.

“I think the fact we have also come with other agencies, they have received that really well and, for the community, it is nice it is not just the police - it shows they have a lot more involvement.

“They see us taking it seriously. We have certainly had some really quite good ideas given to us already.”
