A MAN died after being hit by a train near Ifield railway station yesterday (Thursday).
A British Transport Police (BTP) spokeswoman said: “BTP officers were called to the line near Ifield railway station on Thursday February 3 after a report that a man had been struck by a train.
“BTP and Sussex Police officers attended the incident, which was reported to police at 8.52pm and is currently being treated as non-suspicious.
“Paramedics from the South East Coast Ambulance Service also attended but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The train involved was the 19.40 Horsham to Victoria service.
“Officers will now be working to establish the identity of the deceased, inform relatives and prepare a file for the coroner.”
