Rare and distinctive jewellery valued at about £30,000 has been stolen from a house in Shipley.

The burglary happened in Countryman Lane between 11am and 5.15pm on Saturday (January 16).

The victim returned home to find the outdoor security lights had been turned off and the living room patio doors had been forced open.

After checking the rest of the house, she discovered all of the upstairs rooms had been searched.

Among the items stolen was a safe containing the jewellery, police said.
