Henfield woman charged with drink-driving

A woman from Henfield has been charged with drink-driving after she was stopped by police officers yesterday (Monday December 1).

A Sussex Police spokesperson said: “Emily Colbourne, 33, was arrested after officers were given information that she could be drink-driving while taking her children to school.

“A firearms team that was in the area stopped her car in School Road, Upper Beeding, at 9.30am on December 1 and Colbourne was arrested.”

Colbourne, of Nep Close, Henfield, has been released on bail to appear at Worthing Magistrates’ Court on January 27.

She has become the first person to be charged as part of Sussex Police’s Christmas crackdown on drink and drug-driving.

Road policing unit officers will be on dedicated patrols looking for offenders as part of Operation Dragonfly.

Police have asked the public to call 999 if they know someone who is driving while over the limit or after taking drugs.
