In June 2013, the County Times reported that the police station in Hurst Road was set to close under plans outlined by Sussex police and crime commissioner Katy Bourne.

Today (Thursday May 14), a spokesperson for Mrs Bourne confirmed that a ‘collaborative blue light facility’ in Broadbridge Heath is being considered.

It remains unknown when Horsham Police Station will close its doors, although the building is included for reprovision within the 2013-2018 Sussex Police Estates Strategy.

The spokesperson said: “The opportunity to provide a collaborative blue light facility, from a response base located at Broadbridge Heath, is being considered.

“The relocation of the neighbourhood police teams elsewhere in Horsham is still at early planning stage.

“The police and crime commissioner, Katy Bourne, has made a commitment that no facility or service is removed before a similar or better alternative is put in place.”
