A MOTHER and son gave chase to thieves after they made off with their Labrador puppy outside a primary school on Wednesday November 2.
The owner tethered the new born mutt outside St Andrews Primary School in Shooting Field, Steyning, as she collected her son at 3.30pm.
But on his way out of school, the boy saw two people walking off with his dog.
The son called out before her breaking into a chase after the criminals with his mother.
The man dropped the lead and made off with a woman wearing a Steyning Grammar School uniform.
A spokesperson for Horsham Police said: “The female is described as approximately 16 years of age, white with dyed black hair and a lot of make up wearing the local school uniform.
“The male is described as tall, wearing a grey, white and black hooded top with a cap.
“Thankfully, the puppy was retrieved safe and sound.”
