SURREY Police is appealing for information following the theft of £2,000 worth of cameras from a shop in Cranleigh.

The burglary occurred at 12.25am this morning (Wednesday) at The Camera Shop in Cranleigh High Street.

The suspect, who is believed to be a man, was wearing jogging bottoms, a hooded jumper with the hood up and a mask over his face.

Detective Constable Dan Chant said: “I would urge anyone who was in the area at the time of the offence and saw anything suspicious to contact officers. The suspect was carrying a large, black bag which may well have caught your attention. Any information we can get on their movements following this incident would be gratefully received.

“I would also ask residents to be vigilant and keep an eye out for cameras being sold in suspicious circumstances. Anyone who is offered a camera for sale who believes it may be stolen should contact police immediately.”
