Arrests after teen stabbed in Horsham

A teenager has been taken to hospital after reports of stabbing in Horsham.

It is believed that the 17-year-old suffered a puncture wound following an altercation in Guildford Road on Tuesday night (June 4).

A spokesperson for Sussex Police said: “Police were called at 11.20pm to Merryfield Drive in Horsham to a report a 17-year-old boy had been stabbed after an altercation at the junction between Guildford Road and Hillside.

“The victim was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital with a puncture wound to his back but his injury is not believed to be life threatening.

“Two boys and a man have been arrested at an address in Broadbridge Heath.”

A 16-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man both from Horsham were arrested on suspicion of GBH and have been bailed until August 8.

Another 16-year-old boy was released without further action.

The spokesperson added: “Investigations into the incident continue. Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting serial 1828 of 4/6.”
