20-year-old attacked and robbed in Horsham

A 20-YEAR-OLD man was attacked and robbed of his mobile phone in West Street, Horsham, on Sunday September 11.

The man, from Broadbridge Heath, was wearing a black T-shirt and denim jeans, and had bought a kebab in East Street at around 2.15am.

A spokesperson for Sussex Police said: “Whilst he was outside Vision Express in West Street, walking towards the town centre, a group of six or seven men, believed to be white, walked towards him, attacked and punched him, forcing him to the floor, and took his distinctive HDS Smart mobile phone, which has a grey and purple surround.”

The victim was treated at the East Surrey Hospital for head injuries but was discharged later that day.

Detective Constable Heidi McCall added: “Although the town centre was relatively quiet at the time we still feel there may be witnesses who may have seen the attack.

“The offenders came from the direction of the Shelley Fountain and members of the public may have seen them in this area prior to the attack or may have seen them run off.”
