Crawley Town have placed club captain Josh Simpson and four other players on the transfer list today.
Conor Henderson, Matt Harrold, Lewis Young and goalkeeper Brian Jensen are the four other players that Reds have made available for immediate loan or permanent transfer when the window opens on January 1.
Simpson is the last remaining player who was a member of the squad which gain two successive promotions from the Conference and League Two.
But he has been struggling with ankle and leg injuries and has only played in six matches this season.
Defender Joe Walsh has been appointed club captain with immediate effect.
Meanwhile, the board have agreed to fund the signing of two or three quality players on loan to take us through the opening of the transfer window on January 1.
The emergency loan window closes on November 27.
Chief executive Michael Dunford said: “The board/owners will continue to support the manager in his efforts to strengthen the squad and whilst players have been transfer-listed the board/owners are happy to fund loan deals so that the squad can be strengthened through to the opening of the transfer window on January 1.
“Already the board/owners have committed over £800,000 this season. Like all our supporters, their wish is to see a successful team so even set against our reduced attendances this season they have agreed to provide additional funds to the manager.”
Mat Sadler has returned to Rotherham at the end of his loan spell and the club wishes to thank Mat for his services over the last two months and to wish him well for the future.”
