A WOODEN design studio in Cranleigh is on the shortlist for Waverley’s Design Awards 2011.

The studio was made from local trees which kept the carbon footprint to a minimum.

If you recognise good design, now is your change to vote and give your seal of approval to the best new buildings constructed in the borough.

Votes can be cast in the People’s Choice category of the awards being run by Waverley Borough Council.

There are six diverse buildings to choose from, with photos and the opportunity to vote available on Waverley’s website at www.waverley.gov.uk/designawards

All the buildings in the shortlist were completed between March 31 2009 and April 1 2011.

Mr Adam Taylor-Smith, councillor responsible for planning at Waverley Borough Council, said: “Good quality buildings go up each week in Waverley and the Design Awards celebrate the very best ones.

“The People’s Choice category gives people the chance to recognise the projects that have protected and enhanced the unique environment we have in this borough.”

As well as online, votes can be cast by email, to design.awards@waverley.gov.uk, by post to Sarah Wells, Planning Projects Team, Waverley Borough Council, The Burys, Godalming, GU7 1HR or by completing a voting slip at planning reception at the council offices in Godalming.

The closing date for votes is October 10 2011.
