The council will make a decision on whether 475 houses should be built in Billingshurst today (Tuesday August 20).

Developers submitted an application for 550 homes on land east of the A272, but it was rejected in July 2012 by Horsham District Council.

The consortium behind that scheme have appealed the decision, but since then the council has published its draft housing plan for the district for consultation, which includes around 500 homes for Billingshurst.

Members of Save Billingshurst Action Group are expected to make their voice heard at today’s Development Control South Committee meeting starting at 11am at Park North, North Street, Horsham.

For a decision see the County Times website today, with pictures, full report and reaction in this Thursday’s West Sussex County Times.
