Rumours have been rife around Horsham over the past couple of weeks about who will be replacing HMV in the town centre.

The store shut up shop in West Street last Wednesday (March 18) and since it announced its closure back in February there has been a lot of speculation about who will be replacing the national retailer.

Burger King and Starbucks are just two of the names who have been suggested to take over the site, both of which have previously opened stores in the town.

The County Times approached both retailers for comment on the issue last week.

A spokesperson for Burger King said the fast food retailer were “regularly evaluating” places to expand the business but could not confirm a move.

The spokesperson said: “Burger King franchisees are regularly evaluating opportunities to grow their business and add Burger King locations.

“We will keep you informed of further information if it becomes available.”

A spokesperson for Starbucks said they currently did not have any ‘confirmed stores’ opening in Horsham but said they were always looking for new sites.

The spokesperson said: “We do not have any stores confirmed to be opening in Horsham. We are obviously always looking for new sites.”

What do you think? Would like to see Burger King or Starbucks return to the town?
