The Sussex Guild, with a reputation for high standards of design and craftsmanship, hold their Contemporary Craft Show on June 22 and 23 at Parham House and Gardens near Storrington.

This special event is set in a large marquee in the gardens where thirty-five designer makers will exhibit a variety of crafts, including spectacular examples of ceramics, textiles, jewellery, wood, glass, metalwork and furniture.

Contemporary artist Deborah Timperley, who works in ceramics and glass, is one of our members exhibiting at Parham. In glass she creates richly coloured and textured shapes, which incorporate 23.5-carat gold, while using bone china for her ceramics, she retains its pure whiteness to make textured compositions, which are mounted and framed.

Set in parkland, Elizabethan Parham House with its magnificent Long Gallery, needlework collections, paintings and antique furniture, never fails to delight. There are beautiful gardens with a picnic area and a restaurant in the16th century kitchen.

Lady Emma, whose family have lived at Parham for generations said: “We are delighted that so many very talented Sussex Guild members are coming to Parham again this year. The beautiful objects they produce, both for display and for sale, always delight and inspire our visitors. I know that this year will be no exception.”
