Final farewells to Christ's Hospital
IT IS over. Not one of those 'finally over' moments but a confused, perplexed 'over' that has sprung upon me after seven years.
I have finished my years of Christ's Hospital School. It is indeed sad and undeniably the strangest I have felt for a while, so to describe my thoughts at this moment in time would be pretty difficult, all I can say is that something is indeed missing.
I only left on July 4, nonetheless it seems like an age since I stepped out of chapel doors after the Leavers' service or put on my suit for the Grecians Ball (our Sixth Form prom).
However my journey with CH was not quite over. On July 5 I headed off for one last trip with the Christ's Hospital Band to the Rhineland in Germany.
We stayed in a castle that had been renovated into a hostel. In four days we went to many places; a highlight was playing a concert and marching through Luxembourg.
Another great part of the tour was a trip to the German theme park 'Phantasialand'. We spent the whole day screaming and shouting and on the coach back to the Rhineland we were exhausted after four days of excitement and hard work.
Where to now? I shall wait for my exam results to get back in the next month or so. I will have to put all worries and qualms on hold until I am slowly and anxiously opening the dreaded brown envelope that decides my future.
Nonetheless I will have to find out whether I conquered the mountain of exams or unsuccessfully slipped and rolled to the bottom.
I feel that this holiday will be time to relax in the sun (if England decides to stop being dreary) and refresh myself before I undertake the next step in my life.
