HORSHAM charity Winston’s Wish is getting all fired up over its fundraising firewalk to celebrate the charity’s 20th anniversary next month.
The charity, which is the largest provider of services to bereaved children in the UK, is looking for brave volunteers to join in the exclusive challenge and walk barefoot over hot coals on Saturday May 12 in an attempt to raise their target of £10,000.
All participants will receive a thorough two-hour training session from professional fire walkers, where they will be taught the courage and skills to release their fears and embark upon the exciting challenge safely and confidently.
Chief executive of Winston’s Wish, Fiona Talwar-Lomberg who took part in a firewalk earlier this year said: “The firewalk is an incredible experience. Once you have walked on hot coals you feel like you could do just about anything. It really was exhilarating, I wanted to do it again, and again.”
Fundraiser Debbie Brown said: “We already have ten heroes signed up, and look forward to welcoming more fearless fire walkers to the team.”
The firewalks will take place at the Goodwood Motor Circuit in Chichester and participants will be able to bring friends and family for support. More info at www.winstonswish.org.uk/firewalk
