A PULBOROUGH church is to hold its first ever crib festival.
From today (Friday November 25) until Sunday November 27 St Mary’s Church is showing over fifty different Christmas cribs from across the world.
Some have come from as far away as China, and Jerusalem in the Holy Land, but also from the village itself.
Father Paul Welch, the rector of St Mary’s, said: “I am just amazed at the range of different Christmas cribs that the people of Pulborough have, and in some cases have made, to display in their homes over the Christmas period.
“They remind us all of the true Christmas story.”
As well as this rare collection on sale will be refreshments, home-made jams, advent calendars and Christmas cards.
As part of the event, there will also be a display and demonstration showing how to make your own advent wreath, along with the starter kits for sale.
Father Welch said: “As a preparation for advent and the run up to Christmas this really is a must visit.”
It all starts today (Friday) at 1pm until 8pm and between 7pm and 8pm there will be hand bell ringing.
It is also open Saturday November 26 10am until 5pm and Sunday November 27 12noon until 5pm, and entry is free.
