A TEENAGE driver was forced off the road by a vehicle travelling the wrong way along the A23 yesterday (Tuesday).
The car was seen travelling the wrong way along the A23 northbound carriageway at Handcross Hill.
Police said the incident happened around 8.30pm when a small hatchback vehicle, possibly a Toyota Yaris, narrowly missed several cars before exiting at Warninglid.
A 17-year-old girl in a Volkswagen Polo travelling northbound, was forced off the road to avoid a collision and as a result her car overturned. The driver of the car travelling in the wrong direction failed to stop at the scene.
The teenager, from Crawley, sustained minor injuries and was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton for treatment.
