A Canada goose had to be rescued from a fishing line in Wisborough Green yesterday (Monday June 24).

Firefighters were called to a lake off the A272, at Strood Green, near the village at around 1.50pm.

They were called to help the RSPCA.

The goose was tanged in the line and was retrieved using water rescue equipment and a rescue sled.

The fishing line was removed by an RSPCA officer and the goose released back to lake.
