Directors and staff from a Pulborough online business training firm were in a jubilant mood after bagging a Queen’s Award for Enterprise.
MindTools.com was presented with its award by the Lord Lieutenant of West Sussex Susan Pyper, which they originally won back in April for exceptional and sustained business performance.
Mind Tools won its award for its notable achievements in international trade over the last six years. Last year, international sales accounted for 80% of the company’s turnover, and its services were accessed by customers in more than 130 countries.
Speaking at the company’s presentation ceremony, James Manktelow, founder and CEO of MindTools.com, said winning The Queen’s Award had already helped boost the company’s profile both in the UK and overseas.
He explained: “Since winning our Queen’s Award in April, we’ve seen a surge of interest in our online leadership, management and career development resources. We’ve taken on four new employees in the UK in the last quarter, boosting our worldwide headcount to 30.
“The reaction to our win from both existing and potential customers has been fantastic, and we’re very feeling buoyant about future opportunities.
“But today is about recognising the fantastic contribution of everyone who works for Mind Tools around the world, and thanking them for helping the company achieve this accolade.”
Amongst Mind Tools corporate clients are large companies like TomTom, RBC Dexia and Boehringer Ingelheim, and government agencies in the UK, US, Canada and Australia. Mind Tools also serves over 10,000 individual customers. For both groups, the company offers an extensive range of management and leadership articles, workbooks, videos and other online training materials – flexibly delivered via web, email and mobile devices.
