Around 200 special guests and customers were invited to the unveiling of a Cranleigh department store’s new furniture showroom last Thursday September 20.
In the year of its 125th anniversary, independent department store Manns of Cranleigh, in the High Street, has made radical changes to the store after recognising the need to adapt to a changing world and changing consumer patterns.
The first area to receive a complete transformation has been the 12,000 square foot furniture and interiors showroom, which has seen most of its original stock cleared out to make way for a fresh new look.
Under the guidance of a retail consultant, the buying team at Manns have been carefully sourcing over 150 stunning new furniture pieces, rugs, lamps, accessories and mirrors to meet the needs of their savvy and design conscious customers.
Murray Faulkner, head furniture buyer said: “These are really exciting times for the furniture sales team.
“We have been given the opportunity to completely revamp the department which has allowed us to introduce more colour and design-led pieces, new suppliers and given us the ability to react to the latest trends.
“The showroom is virtually unrecognisable from its previous state and the reaction from customers so far has been nothing but positive.”
Richard Womack, the managing director who hosted the event, added: “I am delighted with the transformation, Manns really is the place to come for furniture, beds, flooring and soft furnishings now.”
