AN EXCITING new art gallery will be unveiled this week at Manns of Cranleigh department store, offering a look at Picasso, Matisse, Dali and Warhol.
As part of their 125-year celebrations they have teamed up with Weybridge’s Globe Gallery, run by husband and wife team Fiona and Joseph Peischl, to install a gallery in their second floor.
They specialise in collectable, original hand-signed limited edition prints by the world’s greatest artists, exhibiting some of the most famous art ever produced in modern times – Picasso, Matisse, Dali, Warhol, Marc Chagall and other modern and contemporary masters, many at prices comparable to the unknown artists you find in most High Street galleries.
Managing director Richard Womack said: “I never thought I’d see Andy Warhol’s Marilyn in my store.”
He described it as a unique opportunity for art lovers and thought it would greatly add to the cultural life in Cranleigh.
Mrs Peischl, joint owner of the Globe Gallery with her husband said: “Specialising in investment grade works we like to see our clients acquire art that first and foremost they love, but secondly has a value which will increase over the years.”
She added: “It’s lovely to think that our art not only brings pleasure to its current owners but will be there for future generations to enjoy.”
The show will open on Saturday May 5 and run until Thursday May 17.
