A Horsham film company based in Crawley Road has scooped another business award for its green initiative.
Take One Productions a leading video and digital animation company won a highly commended award at the Southern Business Awards in late September for their corporate social responsibility initiative Sussex Green Living.
Carrie Cort, one of the directors at Take One, said: “As a company we used to do a lot of work producing marketing and communication solutions for government departments such as the Education; Environment, Food and Rural Affairs; Environment and Climate Change and International Development.
“Then in March 2010 Government went into a marketing and communications freeze and we lost a big percentage of our work.
“We have worked very hard to win more private sector business but have realised a need for some social purpose within our lives and the business - so have done something about it.”
The directors at Take One all have young families and a growing concern for their children’s futures. With constant reminders from the media about climate change and the need to live more sustainably, the team decided to take positive steps.
Sussex Green Living consists of a website full of resources, and they also have a children’s educational club, where kids are taught about recycling in a fun and playful way, with local schools participating.
Carrie added: “In a way I feel the recession has done us a favour as it is encouraging many people to live a greener, leaner, and healthier lifestyle.”
