USUALLY reserved for the Olympic stage or a hollywood movie, expert fencers will dazzle visitors to Horsham’s Hillier Garden Centre this Sunday May 20.

From 2-4pm there will be live displays of the dramatic Olympic sport amongst the summer bedding by members from Crawley Sword Club, including from their manager, Cheryl Deamer.

Meanwhile members of the public will get the chance to pick up a sword, don the mask, and have a go in special taster sessions run by members of the club.

Hillier Garden Centre on Brighton Road is hosting the event to celebrate Hillier’s Garden Exhibit ‘Duel and the Crown’ at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, in partnership with Beazley, sponsors of the British Fencing Team.

Andrew McIndoe, managing director of Hillier Nurseries, said: “Why should Chelsea visitors have all the fun?

“Since our Chelsea exhibit will feature live fencing displays by members of the British Fencing team throughout Chelsea week, we thought we would bring a touch of the Chelsea excitement and drama to our garden centre customers.

“We are inviting everyone to come along and get involved.”
