Elite takes over HiQ stores in south
A HORSHAM business is celebrating its own inflation success story after buying ten fast fit tyre centres from a well known national retail chain.
Elite Garages, based in Mannings Heath, has taken over the HiQ stores in the south of England and now becomes a major franchisee of the company.
Dave Morrison of Elite Garages has purchased the HiQ centres in the region and is upbeat about the future of his outlets, despite operating in tough economic times.
The fast fit centres are located in Bournemouth, Southampton, Salisbury, Portsmouth, Worthing, Brighton, Eastbourne, Strood, Canterbury and Deal and Mr Morrison is promising free tyre checks to all motorists to celebrate the purchases.
He said: "We are really bucking the trend in the motoring trade in the fast fit industry. Whereas retailers are having a tough time shifting cars as a result in the drop in spending, we are finding that more people are keen to fix up or improve their vehicles as a cost cutting alternative.
"The industry remains buoyant and we are certainly looking forward to an exciting future.
"We have a great deal of technical expertise and with Elite's new prices, product availability, promotional offers and increased staff training, motorists will have even more reason to visit us."
He added: "I really believe that we provide our customers with the kind of personal touch that has helped us to quickly establish a very strong reputation and grow our sales in the town."
Elite Garages intends to invest in all ten branches to improve facilities, tyre availability and price competitiveness on tyre, exhaust, MOT and servicing.
The Elite Garages Group specialises in all sections of the motor industry including service and MOT centres, petrol stations, convenience stores and tyre and exhaust centres.
All ten HiQ centres will retain their names, but will operate under the control of the Elite Group.
