Charming cheese

A SUCCESSFUL company has launched a new cheese which it is hoping will take the South-East region by storm.

In a joint venture with a local dairy farm, Bookham Cheese and Pasta, created a unique blend of cheddar and parmesan.

The business, which is based in the picturesque hamlet of Twineham near Haywards Heath, is already famous for its products.

An Italian style hard cheese, called Farmer's Hand, is sold in 440 Sainsbury's stores nationwide, while friend to local producers Budgens, stocks its full product range.

Bookham's new cheese - Sussex Charmer - is made of milk from dairy herds in nearby Rudgwick - making this product West Sussex through and through.

So far it has been going down well at farmers' markets, with plans to launch the cheese in Budgens before Christmas.
