‘Business as usual’ for Handcross firm despite roadworks

A Handcross business has stressed it’s a case of ‘business as usual’ despite major roadworks nearby.

Country Gardens Handcross is offering customers a free cuppa as a reward for getting in.

Will Foulkes, Manager of the garden centre in London Road, said: “Access to the A23 from Warninglid Junction has been closed since August and this may be affecting our southbound customers.

“An alternative route in to us for customers travelling along the southbound A23 is taking the slip road signed Bolney Village and crossing the A23 on the Broxmead Lane bridge.

“Customers can turn right into London Road and head north past the petrol station and then onto the northbound A23 via London Road.

“We wanted to let our customers know that it is business as usual as far as we are concerned and as a gesture to everyone who makes it in, we are offering people a free cup of tea or filter coffee in our restaurant when they present a leaflet to us that can be picked up from our entrance.”

The garden centre is hosting a variety of activities during the festive season including breakfasts and teas with Father Christmas from Saturday, December 1 until Christmas Eve, Monday, December 24.

Will added: “We have calculated the alternative route to take just an extra five minutes. People should still allow plenty of time for their journey while the roadworks are taking place.”

The garden centre is open from Monday until Saturday from 9am until 6pm and on Sundays from 10.30am until 4.30pm.
