Businesses from across the area converged on Billingshurst for the popular BilliBiz – The Show.

Now in its fourth year the micro-business exhibition and networking event attracted a healthy flow of visitors to The Billingshurst Centre.

The centrepiece of the day was the packed main hall which was full of exhibitors from around the area including Slinfold Golf and Country Club, Gatton Manor at Ockley, Cranfield Physical Injury Centre and Storrington firm Blue Flame Design to name just a few. It was a good day for Itchingfield firm A-Team Mechanics who won the prize for the best stall at the event. Director Tizz Burdfield appeared to have transported half of his business to the hall and visitors got to get to grips with an old tyre a bumper and even a vehicle suspension.

He said: “It is all about people knowing what we do. We have had some really positive feedback from today and it will not be until we go away from here that we will see if it works. For me being part of the community is important as my family have been in this area for 1,000 years and you have got to know people in the area.”

Matt Bennett of Blue Flame, a graphic design, branding and website design firm, was also one of the organisers of the show. He said: “BilliBiz – The Show is an important event as it bring businesses together and it is a fantastic opportunity to improve your profile.”

Visitors to the show were able to listen to three guest speakers including best selling author Dee Blick, Blaise Tapp of the West Sussex County Times and Finn Ryan of ActionCOACH.

Dee Blick, who this week launched her latest book, The Ultimate Guide to Writing and Marketing a Bestselling Book on a Shoestring Budget, said: “I love local events as I spend a lot of my time out of the area so you get to meet people here and have a decent conversation. The great thing about BilliBiz is that it is all done on a shoestring and it helps you strengthen your communication skills.”

Keith Paul, Chairman of the BilliBiz –The Show organizing committee, said at its conclusion, “The feedback we have received from exhibitors immediately after the Show has been excellent with virtually everyone saying they expect to be back or that they would recommend BilliBiz-The Show to others.”
