The reopening of Costa in Horsham town centre has been delayed following the discovery of asbestos inside the coffee shop.
A spokesperson for the West Street store said the asbestos has been removed.
Costa has been closed for refurbishment since early August, but is set to reopen later this month.
The spokesperson said: “We can confirm that the asbestos uncovered in our Costa store in Horsham on West Street has now been removed.
“There was a full investigation into the extent of the asbestos and we took the decision to delay the reopening of the store whilst notifying the health and safety executive.
“Safeguarding the welfare of our customers and employees is our primary concern and in line with this the store will reopen on Monday September 29.
“Our team are looking forward to welcoming back our current and new customers with a friendly smile, an irresistible cup of coffee and a brand new-look store with additional seating and revamped facilities.”
