Bringing a little peace and love into the world

Wisborough Green met the founder of Peace Love World, Alina Villasante, in Miami through her husband’s aviation company, AJ Walters based in Slinfold, and became firm family friends.

After years of Alina persuading, Andrea Whiteside this year, with both children now teenagers, decided to bring Peace Love World to the UK.

The Autumn Gift Fair at Knepp Castle, Shipley in aid of St Catherine’s Hospice (Thursday 20 September, 9.30am-4pm), will be a launch platform for this exciting range of clothing.

“The founders’ philosophy is that ‘Peace Love World is not just a symbol, it’s a way of life’,” said Andrea.

“I like the sentiments especially when you view the world’s daily news.

“It’s a cheeky brand with fun illustrations, but for me, importantly, it’s the quality of the clothing that is so good.”

The Fair is just the start as the brand is known internationally with the likes of Kim Kardashian being seen wearing it around the USA.

It’s very much a family affair with niece Kitty helping, who will be on hand at the fair to offer advice to mums and grandparents on sizes; and daughter Emily who promotes the ranges through her equestrian competitions.

Andrea was quick to point out that the ranges are not just for teenagers but for trendy mums that, like herself, wear relaxing, comfortable clothing for home or for exercise classes.

From the fair it’s off to the New York fashion week for Andrea, where she hopes to interest UK-based retail buyers to stock the ranges and so become clients of hers.

“I have one or two retail clients in the UK and they have been very pleased with the response from customers to Peace Love World,” said Andrea.
